PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

Knowledge matters. Becoming the practitioner matters too.

Professional education is more than earning a credential. It is about developing the knowledge, judgment, emotional capacity, and professional self-awareness to serve well when the work becomes complex.

Some professionals come here because they need accredited certification and practical training. Others already have the education and experience and want to refine how they show up inside the work.

The goal is not simply to know more. It is to become more capable of using what you know with clarity, integrity, and confidence.

Two Professional Pathways

EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONS

Whether you are looking to earn a professional credential through The Addictions Academy or deepen your leadership, presence, and emotional steadiness through Practitioner EQ™, this page is designed to help you find the right next step.

These two pathways serve different needs, but they are connected by the same commitment: preparing helping professionals to serve with skill, integrity, and sustainability.

One pathway offers structured credentialing for those pursuing professional education in addiction, mental health, recovery, trauma, autism, adolescent support, family recovery, and gambling addiction. The other offers focused mentorship for established helping professionals who want to strengthen how they lead, serve, communicate, and sustain themselves in the work.

Wherever you are starting, the goal is the same: stronger practitioners, healthier service, and better long-term impact.

PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALING

The Addictions Academy

Recognized credentials. Real-world application.

My work with The Addictions Academy allows me to teach professional certification programs in the areas where I have spent years working, teaching, and supporting people in real life.

The coursework provides the structure, ethics, evidence-based education, and professional standards. My role is to help students understand how to actually use what they are learning when another human being is sitting across from them.

That means we talk about the material, but we also talk about judgment, boundaries, communication, emotional steadiness, and what happens when the situation in front of you does not look quite as tidy as the example in the textbook.

There are two ways to complete your training.

LIVE CLASSES
WITH TRICIA

$999 per course

For professionals who prefer to work independently, self-paced certification programs are available directly through The Addictions Academy.

$1,599 per person

Live training offers the same professional curriculum with the addition of real-time instruction, discussion, application, and the opportunity to work through questions as they arise.

Group discounts are available.

I am moving away from maintaining a large public teaching calendar. Live classes are now primarily offered by reservation, which allows individuals, small groups, and organizations to request the training that fits what they actually need.

Limited live availability is currently planned February through April for Mental Health, Adolescent Addiction & Motivation, Trauma, and Autism Spectrum Disorder certifications.

Other live certification classes may be requested based on availability.

PRACTITIONER EQ™

Professional development for the practitioner doing the work.

Practitioner EQ™ is a 12-week mentorship experience for helping professionals who already have training, experience, or both, and want to strengthen how they actually show up inside the work.

The foundation is emotional agility, professional self-awareness, discernment, boundaries, and the ability to remain steady without becoming overly responsible for another person’s process.

This is not another credential. It is focused development for the parts of professional practice that are harder to teach in a classroom: how much of yourself to bring into the room, how to stay curious without overfunctioning, how to recognize when your own reactions are entering the work, and how to remain compassionate without carrying what does not belong to you.

The mentorship combines foundational Practitioner EQ™ skills with individualized attention to the situations, patterns, and professional challenges that are most relevant to you.

Recognize your own patterns, reactions, assumptions, and points of overinvestment before they begin directing the work.

Strengthen boundaries, communication, discernment, and the ability to remain grounded when the work becomes emotionally complex.

Develop ways of working that allow you to care deeply, stay effective, and remain yourself over time.

Practitioner EQ™ is currently offered 1:1, with the option for a small group when there is a natural fit.

What good practitioners keep developing.

Knowledge matters... Ethics matter... Technique matters.

And so do judgment, self-awareness, emotional capacity, curiosity, boundaries, and the ability to recognize when you have entered the work more than the work requires.

Professional development doesn't end when the credential is earned.

It continues in the way we listen, the way we respond under pressure, the way we hold boundaries, the way we manage our own investment, and the way we remain useful without making another person’s process ours to carry.

The goal isn't to become detached.

It is to become steady enough to care deeply, think clearly, and remain yourself while doing meaningful work.
